Acne is a skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become clogged with oil and dead skin cells. Treatment includes topical (cream or gel) treatment and certain oral medications.

Eczema (also called Atopic Dermatitis) is caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Managing eczema involves moisturizing regularly, using steroid creams for flare ups, and avoiding triggers like harsh soaps.

Dermatitis is a general term for
inflammation of the skin, while eczema (atopic dermatitis) is a specific type. Both conditions can be treated with moisturisers, steroid creams, and avoidance of irritants.

Psoriasis is an autoimmune condition that leads to thick skin plaques. Treatments include steroid creams, phototherapy, and systemic medications like biologics.

Hair loss can be due to genetics (androgenetic alopecia), stress, medical conditions (e.g., thyroid disorders), or nutritional deficiencies. Treatments range from topical lotions to oral medications or other therapies depending on the cause.

Look for asymmetry, irregular borders, multiple colours, diameter larger than 6mm, and evolution in size or shape. If in doubt, consult a dermatologist for a dermatoscope assessment and  biopsy.

Hyperpigmentation is often caused by sun damage, hormonal changes (melasma), or inflammation (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation). Treatments include topical retinoids, hydroquinone, and sunscreen use.

Yes, diet can influence skin health. High- glycemic foods and dairy can worsen acne, while anti inflammatory foods rich in antioxidants (e.g., fruits and vegetables) promote better skin health.

Yes, stress can worsen conditions like acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Managing stress through lifestyle changes can improve overall skin health.

To prevent premature skin ageing, wear broad-spectrum sunscreen daily, avoid smoking, and consider using retinoids and antioxidants like vitamin C to maintain skin health.

Sunscreen protects against UV damage, which can lead to skin cancer and premature ageing. Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) daily, even on cloudy days, and reapply every 2 hours if exposed to direct sunlight.

If you suspect an allergic skin reaction, stop using the product and consult a dermatologist. Antihistamines, steroid creams, and identifying the allergen are common steps in management.
